admiration

Happy mid-October!

While I was thinking happy thoughts, I came up with this new piece admiration. Since I have left my acrylic days behind, I have yet to have a chance to paint florals. Painting flowers with watercolor is quite challenging but has a totally different effect from acrylic. I do love what watercolor can do for pieces, especially color bleed. I will try to explore more on color diffusion in the next pieces!

One of my weaknesses is drawing hands. I remember at age 9, I was told that my drawings of hands looked like bananas. Although it is really funny now...I still find drawing hands a challenge!

I've sort of found inner peace by finding solutions to render them in a less realistic way. Now I love drawing hands and I usually challenge myself drawing difficult gestures!

This is envisioned. A little project I love that has a sort of cute little message: love  + freedom + vision.

Vintage Ladies

I've been interested in vintage fashion lately. Not wearing, but illustrating them!

There is something about ladies' retro style that is mysteriously feminine to me.

What do you think about these ladies sporting the 20's and 50's style?

Perhaps this year for Halloween, I should wear something vintage? Any suggestions? :)

daydream.

One of the persons I admire once wrote "Whenever you daydream, there births a seed that has yet to be planted." (--Bundit Ungrangsee) I have to agree! Whenever I daydream (or actually dream-dream) I often get new inspiration to paint or create something new! Therefore, here is my new dreamy, daydream, dream-like inspired piece!

HAPPY L♡VE DAY

HAPPY L♡VE DAY to everybody! I hope you are all having a love filled day, but not only on this specific day...but everyday, of course!

When I attended elementary school in Thailand, we would celebrate Valentine's Day by sticking heart-shaped stickers on everyone!! It was so much fun and very joyful to come home with your entire school uniform covered in hearts ♡ I get nostalgic and warm feelings every time I think about it!

I like big mutts and I cannot lie!

Last week I accidentally happen to hear Sir Mix-A-Lot's "Baby Got Back". ( Don't ask me how because I don't even remember where I heard it!! ) But funny enough, I got the idea for this illustration, I like big mutts and I cannot lie!

As I was doing research on mixed breed dogs, there are many funny names given to these mutt breeds: Multi-Poo, Peek-a-Poo, Boxador, Gerberian Shepsky...people are so creative!

Plant & Grow.

Around winter, it's not easy for me to maintain my plants and flowers. One thing I'm sure of is that it's a lot easier to draw them! :)

Illustration Portraits

I did these a while back but I wanted to share some of the illustration portraits I drew for family and friends!!

 This was a Christmas present for my lovely sister, brother in law, and Cocoa!!

And this was a wedding present for my sweet friend (who is also my wonderful yoga teacher) and her husband!

I really enjoy painting illustration portraits for those I love! It certainly feels great to see their happy faces when they receive them too!

I love painting with themes from song titles! Plus...I love tea! This time, my illustration is based from the song Tea for Two by Doris Day.

Winter puppies

My dog's birthday is coming up and I was looking for a nice pet sweater for her, I couldn't find many I like...so I decided to draw one for her! So this one's for you, my poodle! (and plus the other pup is my neighbor's little french bulldog!)

I'm not a firm believer.
Probably because I've never experienced it...I do believe in "like" at first sight though!

I melt with you.

50 First Dates is one of my most favorite movies of all time. It's so funny and quirky cute! Plus, I've been a fan of the Adam Sandler-Drew Barrymore combo since The Wedding Singer.

After listening to some of the film's soundtracks, Jason Mraz's cover of I Melt with You inspired me to draw this illustration. :) It's a different kind of melt, but...oh well!
